Our client Stephanie came to us because her dogs were FREAKING OUT on the street, in the house, and at the sight of ANY other dog, bird, small animal...even humans. 

Their behavior was embarrassing, frustrating, and even after sending her dogs off to a board and train program with another trainer, she was STILL struggling with their reactivity. Stephanie was feeling hopeless, like she failed her dogs...

She wished so badly she could rationalize with her dogs like she did with her kids. 

To be able to tell them its fine... 

To convince them to settle down and there's nothing to worry about.

But the problem is…

Stephanie is a human, and she speaks human language.

Her dogs don’t…

She can tell them “no, relax, calm down, get it together” all day long...

But her dogs continue having melt downs and causing scenes everywhere they go [barking, lunging, people are staring…the whole thing]

Which leaves her feeling completely helpless because she's unable to communicate in a way her dogs actually understand. 

That’s how most of us are communicating with our dogs by the way…

We’re talking to them in English, and they speak Japanese. (Its an example, but you get the gist)

Our dogs need to receive the information we give them in a way that actually makes sense. 

A totally different way than Stephanie had been trying. 

Dogs will eventually understand whatever language we teach them, but remember, words are meaningless until we add VALUE to them. 

So how DID Stephanie get her dogs to stop reacting on the streets?

She had done all the stuff in the book.

She tried the highest value treats to distract her dogs. 

She engaged in a games of tug as they passed by people.

She spun and danced in circles and switched directions so many times on the walk, she made herself dizzy...only to be left nauseas and wrangling her two explosive dogs. 

Yet, she was still struggling trying to resolve this behavior…

Because dogs won’t stop a self-rewarding behavior without a good reason to. Fact.
